Rapper Jay-Z has been confirmed as the headline act for the Super Bowl LXI half-time show, which will take place at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Rapper Jay-Z has been confirmed as the headline act for the half-time show at Super Bowl LXI, the 2027 edition of the NFL's championship game, which will be staged at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The announcement was made by Roc Nation, the NFL and Apple Music after weeks of speculation about who would take the stage.
Jay-Z, who co-founded the entertainment company Roc Nation, said the booking was a personal milestone. He described it as a dream come true, reflecting on what it means to perform on the biggest stage in American sport. The performance will be one of the most closely watched musical moments of the year, given the global television audience that the Super Bowl commands.
The half-time show has become one of the most prominent platforms in popular music, and the choice of headliner is typically treated as a major cultural event in its own right. Roc Nation's involvement reflects the company's growing role in shaping the NFL's entertainment programming, a relationship that has expanded in recent seasons as the league has sought to broaden its appeal beyond the football field.
Apple Music, which has been a partner on the half-time show, also confirmed the announcement. The arrangement underlines how the event has evolved from a traditional broadcast interval into a commercial and cultural showcase, with music streaming, sponsorship and live entertainment converging on a single broadcast.
Super Bowl LXI will be held at SoFi Stadium, the Inglewood venue that has hosted major sporting events and large-scale concerts since opening. Los Angeles has hosted the Super Bowl before, and the 2027 game will bring the city back into the centre of the league's most watched occasion. Further details about the setlist and any guest performers have not yet been disclosed.
